Nestled amongst the beautiful landscapes and wineries of Marlborough, Omaka Marae is the cultural and spiritual meeting place of local Maori. This tour gives you access to Omaka Marae, its history and people, and gain a deep insight into our culture, values and dreams for the future.

You will experience a traditional welcome, sample Maori food, participate in an interactive cultural activity (such as flax weaving, traditional Maori instruments or Maori weaponry) and learn about the significance of the carved meeting house. We will share with you our tribal stories and legends such as the famous Polynesian navigator Kupe and our ancestors the Moa Hunters.

  • Tours scheduled for 9:30 am daily. Note: Tour start time can be adjusted to suit itineraries upon request/availability.
  • Approximately 2 hours
  • Morning tea provided
  • Minimum number 2 adults
  • Complimentary pick-ups from and to the Blenheim iSITE, and accommodation places within the Blenheim CBD, can be arranged for up to 8 people
